Regarding color: for now Wayland only supports sRGB, so there is no real color management. They have only devoted themselves to supporting HDR in movies and video games, taking advantage of Steam's “gamescope,” despite constant requests for a real CMS. I don't have much confidence... Regarding Xwayland, I wonder what will happen to it when all distros switch to Wayland and remove support for XOrg.
