I was wondering if Andrew's patch for batch rendering (batchrender_postmerge_xml_check.diff) is already in Git. Even though it fixes a very rare issue, I think it's useful because it prevents us from corrupting the (non-XML) file we're targeting. I recall that if we run a command-line render and mistakenly target any file other than the XML project file, that file gets completely corrupted.
PS: It seems to me that it also handles simple command-line rendering, not just batch rendering.
