I never really considered cin to be an audio-editor, but purely an NLE
for a/v composition: both audio and video.

Adam Williams is the author of Broadcast 2000, an app which allows you to mix audio and video and looks a little like Pro Tools. If you're mixing audio on a low end pentium or such, one of the nice things you can do is render a succession of tracks with fx in non-realtime and then mix them.

But again, *compiling* all dependencies of say Audacity takes quite a time even on my main AMD FX 4800 (due to wxgtk demanding webkitgtk .. for help files ). So having something lighter is a plus for me.
