No worries. I set up an inotifywatch script that transcodes media I write into an ingest folder on-the-fly, preserving the h264 codec but converting AAC to PCM_S24LE embedded audio. It’s automatic, mostly, and it’s quite neat. I don’t mind this part of things.

I also found forum post from oct. 2020 about kdenlive and nvenc not working (on dual-gpu system). I followed link there and double-checked visually our  h264_nvenc profile... it look sane...

also found (probably already referenced) thread about (lack of) 10 bit support in mlt/kdenlive, in context of 8k editing (again, year happened since this was written, so may be some progress already was done)
