It seems there could be issues with fuse3 being replaced by fuse2.
Another suggestion I saw was "I have the same problem. Until it gets fixed, try running the appimage file in the terminal with the --no-sandbox flag".  This worked for at least one person BUT cinelerra takes it as a filename as shown in error below:

Cinelerra is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License,
and you are welcome to change it and/or distribute copies of it under
certain conditions. There is absolutely no warranty for Cinelerra.

int MWindow::load_filenames(ArrayList<char*>*, int, int, int):
Failed to open /tmp/--no-sandbox

And one more suggestion that looks scary is to do this every time you boot:
   sudo sysctl -w kernel.apparmor_restrict_unprivileged_userns=0

The AppImage apparently does not work on Ubuntu 24.04.  Anyone running it?

I am looking to run the latest Cinelerra on Ubuntu 24.04. Nvidea RTX 2070, AMD Ryzen 7 3800X ( 8 core), 32 Gigs RAM, M2 NVME, Motu M2 audio card.

I have tried Cinelerra in the past and it was not usable. Am checking in to see if that has changed. However, there seems to be no way to install Cinelerra GG on my current OS. If anyone knows a quick and easy way to test, do let me know!

I suggested the latest AppImage but his reply: Second note quoted:

I have indeed tried this and there are a lot of dependency issues that cannot be resolved. I could post the list of dependencies mentioned. It shows two that are missing and then the program gives up, as it were. Libfuse2, libflac8, I think were some of things the program clamored for...I tried to install those, but no candidate available...

https://askubuntu.com/questions/1537767/since-fuse-fuse2-breaks-the-system-and-appimage-requires-it-does-that-mean-that

this answer suggest libfuse2 should be there.

I only have VERY SLOW usb flash install of Ubuntu Studio 24.04, not sure if it dies have this by package  default or not....

I'll try to test and report back.
