So is the github version now the same as that on heroinewarrior website?
I think yes. I compiled github version and she says Cinelerra 8 (2022). Sadly some bug with preferences prevent program from running correctly when compiled for 32 bit system. I posted errors to Adam, may be he will look at them at some point.
I hope GL rendering can work on open-source GL drivers as long as it does not use too exotic features... I'll try to build same source in x86_64 chroot.
I also left comment under video speculating external ffmpeg can use whatever accel it was compiled with.
So may be Adam will try to reanimate some old laptop with intel or arm board. He tend to have strong hardware side, and definitely not afraid about soldering. But there is only 24 hours in day!
Andrew noted that Github is at:
and HV is at:
http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.phpThe Github does seem to be updated yesterday, but I can not tell for sure.
I will try to look at the code differences with my limited ability, but so far do not see any possible stitching that would be a big plus.
The "command line" mode to be able to use ffmpeg parameters directly
and thus create rendering presets as we need them is interesting.
However, the many, many presets that CinGG already has, and the
customization of them, are more than sufficent, in my opinion.
The important new feature is GPU acceleration in playback.
Unfortunately, it is only limited to Nvidia with Cuda, but it is
something. Is it possible to implement it in CinGG? Unfortunately, I
think Adam only owns Nvidia, so I don't think he is interested in
implementing vaapi, which does work with Nvidia, AMD and Intel.
