But in Format there is an additional input box called "Aspect ratio" with the "Auto" button next to it. This box lets you choose the aspect ratio directly: 4:3 - 16:9 - 2.35 - etc.

The "Aspect ratio" parameter, there, is meant for Anamorphic format. So it changes DAR (Display Aspect Ratio) and/or PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio) for some types of container/codec: pixel may not be square (1:1). I think you always know. IgorBeg
