My tape sources are Hi8 and S-VHS, that is S-Video quality between VHS and DV.

And I got a working Sony Hi8 tape deck and a Panasonic S-VHS deck on eBay a few years ago, as players beside my still working Sony Hi8 camcorder.

Is it possible to record just Audio with an A/D Video adapter, which audio record format and what quality, compared with a pure Audio adapter?
And if so, can audio record applications like Audiacity be used?
