Andrea, thank you so much for your tests.
Probably, your computer's performance is so high that you can't see this
latency I can see.

In my laptop, switching "Charlie" governor from Powersave to
Performance, it is more responsive but not much.
My Laptop has 8GB of RAM.
Once the Project is loaded into Cinelerra-GG, Top program says:
- for Cin program: %MEM=26.1 (max peak 38)
- Total Mem Used: 2500000 KiB (of 8GB)
This , using "Use thumbnails in resource window" = CHECKED in Settings->
Preferences.
