There were no errors when built on Ubuntu 16 in the log file (but I forgot to actually test it - will do so tomorrow).

It did not cause any issue for Fedora 32 which is NOT at cmake 4.0.

Am currently looking for test cmake 4.0 for Fedora 41 - online notes says cmake 4.0 will be included in Fedora 43 which is still a ways off.  Thank goodness that Andrea uses Arch so we get an early warning system of build problems.
