About the chapter on plugins in the manual I would like to ask some questions: In Resource --> Info, the entries about automatic de-interlacing had been removed because they were not working. Do you remember the discussion where it was discussed? I can't find it. The Gradient Plugin was reworked; but the modifications were hidden, weren't they? Hasn't the configuration window changed? Are there any other plugins (except Sketcher and Tracer) that have changed?
Nothing worth noting about the *Gradient plugin*: the before and after jpg file only shows that before you clicked on the boxes of Inner/Outer color and now you click on the colored rectangle instead to bring up the color picker. Here is what the notes say: BUG fix: A mod has been made to the colorpicker that affects the Gradient to avoid strange hesitancy behavior. Fixed outer color setup for yuv in the gradient plugin. BUG fix: The Gradient plugin has been reworked and fixed so that the OpenGL version is now correct and the same as the X11 software version. BEHAVIOR change: It also has had the Color Picker updated to work the same as the other newer color pickers with an OK and Cancel button. I have to get back to you on deinterlacing. I believe that there are no other plugin changes besides Tracer and Sketcher as I looked through my notes between March and now and nothing of significance showed up. About configuration window changes: The Settings->Preferences, *Appearance *tab has changed for this month's builds. I did check in an updated settings.png in the Configuration.tex section, but only the one image. The *Interface *tab has had the Snapshot path also added for this month's build. I just added 1 line about the snapshot path to Configuration.tex also. I think that that is all I did in Configuration.tex. On Sun, Jan 26, 2020 at 1:03 AM Andrea paz <[email protected]> wrote:

About deinterlacing: So far I have only had time to see that F_interlace was removed and I noticed it is still in the Plugin section. Removed the ffmpeg F_interlace plugin because it was problematic. Use F_tinterlace instead. On Sun, Jan 26, 2020 at 1:03 AM Andrea paz <[email protected]> wrote:

About the Info deinterlacing stuff -- it is in closed BT #248. Here is a summary: Olaf quote paraphases: The "Asset Info window" contains three lines about interlacing (manual page 53). The default setting is "automatically fix interlacing". I seem to remember that someone on the CV mailing list wrote that these settings didn't do anything. But if it doesn't work, it should be removed. Because such a thing obviously only causes confusion. IgorUbuntu quote: "In each media file properties it is possible to define the "Asset's interlacing". Asset's interlacing => "The type of interlacing the asset has" (In asset-> you set the interlacing mode of the source material.)... For each asset, if cinelerra can detect the interlacing for the source, (*currently only for quicktime-DV* at the moment) it will set the interlacing as appropriate, otherwise it will default to "unknown"..." GG did: The lines in the Resource window, Media Info that read "Fix Interlacing" and "Interlacing correction" have been deleted from the code base. The line "Asset's interlacing" is retained as this field is used for creating DVDs. On Sun, Jan 26, 2020 at 1:03 AM Andrea paz <[email protected]> wrote:

First, let me just say THANK YOU, THANK YOU - Plugins is the biggest section with the most images so it is a lot of work. The more I look at the .tex files, the more I realize all of the work you did. Second, sorry for so many emails but I have to work between tasks today. Third, I reviewed the plugin changes again in my notes and with 7.2, there were some upgrades from Adam in the following (just let me know if you need more specifics for any of these): *Reverb* ported containing a large amount of changes to include addition of levels, a graphic, pots and a full band pass filter. *Compressor* plugin had major modifications along with more pot dial options, VU meters, and a graphic display. Cinelerra_factory changes applied also for some automatic presets for plugin. And has had the Smooth Only option fixed and buttons for Gain and Reset added. *Spectogram /Synthesizer* plugins were ported as they had a couple of more items/improvements. *Refresh* frame tweak included. *Sound Level* plugin reworked to handle fragments. And other minor changes that I do not think there is any visible effects seen and should not need documentation changes: *Audioscope* plugin rework for cleanup and improvements. *Paremetric *plugin has improved audio play positioning. *YUV411* plugin fixed to immediately show a warning message if the session format is not YUV. Cleanup done in the *Overlay* plugin. *Color 3 Way* plugin has had “clear” buttons added by an anonymous user/programmer. Convenient! *15 native plugins have been enhanced* by a user contributor to include a “Clear” button for individual sliders making it easy to reset just 1 instead of all. In addition a “Default” button for some of these plugins was added to revert to the plugin’s default settings. Plugins affected include: brightness, colorbalance, huesaturation, linearblur, polar, radialblur, rgbshift, sharpen, shiftinterlace, unsharp, wave, whirl, yuv, yuvshift, and zoomblur.
