Configurations for Shuttles....
Hi Phyllis, I am very happy that both Shuttle models are now supported on Cinelerra and I look forward to testing them and reporting my observations to the Forum. But for that I have to be able to apply the configurations indicated in article 10.29 of Features5. For me, who am an illiterate of the linux code and the terminal, the line: # cp {cindat_path}/doc/99-ShuttlePRO.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/99-ShuttlePRO.rules For me, it could be written in "Chinese", it would be the same... Is it enough for me to simply paste as is in the terminal: # cp {cindat_path}/doc/99-ShuttlePRO.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/99-ShuttlePRO.rules without changing anything, and it will be settled? I guess it's not that simple, but I have no idea what to do... Pierre
Pierre: # cp {cindat_path}/doc/99-ShuttlePRO.rules
/etc/udev/rules.d/99-ShuttlePRO.rules
Attached is a file called 99-ShuttlePRO.rules. You just need to save this file in the correct directory for the Operating System. Simply download this file and save it in your current directory. At a terminal window prompt, keyin: sudo cp 99-ShuttlePRO.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/. (You can cut and paste the above line). The "sudo" lets you be root temporarily. You probably will have to type in the password. The "cp" is a copy command to copy the downloaded file to the correct place for Mint. The next time you reboot, you should be able to use the shuttle. If this does not make sense or work for you, since MatN uses Mint, he can maybe explain how to do this with a file manager instead. Be sure to let me know either way.
Thank you Phyllis I followed the instruction with the file provided, and it worked. I just tried my ShuttleXpress in Cinelerra-GG and the Jog and Shuttle wheels allowed me to move the assembly with great ease. I already feel it's going to be very useful. I think I understood that the initial command was to copy the file "99-ShuttlePRO.rules" from the directory where I installed Cinelerra-GG (in its directory /doc/). I looked carefully, "99-ShuttlePRO.rules" is not there... Pierre On 19-01-31 23 h 06, Phyllis Smith wrote:
