How to put new transitions in the appimage?
I received a request to put a button that would serve to put new transitions directly into the appimage. In your opinion is it possible or do you have to go through manual unpacking and subsequent recreation of the appimage?
Good question and I do not have a clue. MatN would probably know immediately. But I will see if I can figure this out later today. I do see around page 457 in the pdf version of the manual, the following statement; however I probably just jammed that in without doing a thorough investigation.
You can add your own images to the Shape Wipe transition and there are some free ones available to download at http://assistcg.com - click on the Transi- tions option under the Video pulldown on that site. *AppImage does not providethis capability unless you use the workaround *as described in the Appendix FAQ, Known Problems and Workarounds.

Regretfully, I don't know. When I figured out how to create an AppImage, setting up the directory structure was relatively easy (simplified existsing source code). But packing that into AppImage format was difficult. Therefore CinGG relies on the external tool appimagetool, which is specific for each platform. I couldn't figure out how to build it properly as part of CinGG, like I could for the makeappimage tool (in the Tools directory). So I think the only way for now is the unpack-modify-pack sequence described in the appendix Phyllis mentioned. Maybe it can be done by a "native" build for a platform, not an appimage. MatN PS. I wasn't the only one having problems gathering the source to build appimagetool. Some people made a little progress since, but I have not delved into it. time... Thank you, I had already responded to the request. You can find the exchange here (in Italian): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77Z7J5EPVjo
If the transitions that person likes are open source and sharable and not too big, that could be submitted and added to the baseline. On Mon, Sep 25, 2023 at 2:53 PM Andrea paz via Cin < [email protected]> wrote:
