Video Transitions not locking into track?
I am using a recent git version of Cinelerra, and I notice that I cannot drop a video transition between two pasted clips anymore. So I do see the white square as placement, but the icon after it does not follow. Neither is the transition visually applied between the two clips. (I have also seen the case where the icon isn't there, but the transition happens, but not today.) -- Stefan
Even back to 2018 version of Cinelerra, I am having trouble always getting different video transitions to work. There must be a reasonable explanation but I have not figured it out yet. Sometimes I think I am in the "twilight zone". On Wed, Jan 26, 2022 at 12:34 PM Stefan de Konink via Cin < [email protected]> wrote:

I have tested: CinGG-20211231-x86_64.AppImage with all of the Video Transitions (only 2 of Shape Wipe). Now that I did it correctly, they all work. I forgot that each side of the clip has to be of some size -- delete a sizable section from within the video" is stated in the manual but obviously applies to size of clips also. So check the sizes of each clip to be sure there is enough material to perform the transition. I have not been able to prove that shortening the length of the transition makes any difference in its capability of working or not. If you have a concrete example that is not working, that you think should, explain how to generate that problem. To show how video transitions might not work for certain ones, make a single cut in a video (x), drag the Dissolve or IrisSquare transition there and play and you will see it not work. However, the Zoom transition does work. On Wed, Jan 26, 2022 at 12:34 PM Stefan de Konink via Cin < [email protected]> wrote:

May be that in Overlay window (Ctrl+0 shortcut to open the window), the Transitions checkbox is unchecked? If it were so, dragging and dropping a video transition works but you can not see the icons. Phyllis wrote:

"100% Solved by Igor" (tm) So maybe... just maybe... there should be a hint when dropping the transition, that it is disabled. -- Stefan
Good, Stefan!
So maybe... just maybe... there should be a hint when dropping the transition, that it is disabled. I don't think it would solve any problem using a hint. I always open 5 window to work in Cinelerra-GG: Resources, Viewer, Compositor, Program (Timeline) and the Overlay because I can enable and disable the checkboxes where I am working on to have a "clear" timeline.
