New Samsung codec "APV"
Ffmpeg has introduced (in decoding) a new “mezzanine codec” from Samsung: apv. There is also a proposal for an “OpenAPV” codec. The news is not particularly interesting: CinGG will read it because ffmpeg will read it; but the codec “draft” is useful and thorough in explaining how a codec is built and how it works. It can be found here: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-lim-apv/ PS: I also attach an image of the “quality pentagon ” of a video. It is OT, but I particularly like it for its clarity and simplicity.
That is a very useful jpeg - like you said the simplicity and clarity make it easy to understand. On Thu, May 1, 2025 at 2:20 AM Andrea paz via Cin < [email protected]> wrote:
