I have added a new section to the Real-World appendix of the manual. It consists of adding a frame to a Picture in Picture and is based on a post in our forum. I enclose the latex file with image and also the text in odt for those who would like to review it. See if it is OK for you. Link to the files: https://ufile.io/zfshf1ct

note link will expire in 30 days I read txt on proxy files, but only 'error' I saw was missing space between two words, may be due to tex -> txt conversion or my android viewer. "Check thatFile Format is set to FFMPEG." between that and File. (may be there was space as some special symbol?)

Oh, this was nearly manual in itself :) (I read tex version via mcview) I just assume new sections wrap around older keyframe section? nice to see those features (like shared plugin and nested clip/EDL ) put to good use. Also good reminder for me to try them one day .. сб, 14 янв. 2023 г., 14:40 Andrew Randrianasulu <[email protected]>:

Thanks to IgorB for how-to, Andrea for Latex formatting, and Andrew for proofreading. Made a few corrections based on feedback and checked into GIT. (Andrea, note I have added a new section to Manual, Authors and Contributors, so you may want to checkout all from GIT because CinelerraGG_Manual.tex changed and it would be very helpful if you have time to verify that I did not forget something). Thank you Phyllis, you did a great job and there is no need for further changes on the Latex code. I take this opportunity for a proposal. In order to entice more users to contribute to the manual I was thinking of not transposing the new additions into Latex right away. I propose to post the contributions to the mailing list in odt so that any user can propose, read and edit them. LibreOffice also offers the possibility of having multiple contributors on the same file so that it is easy to keep track of the various contributions. There is no longer the obstacle of Latex that requires long installations and then learning the language. Then, having arrived at the final version I can transpose it into Latex and Phyllis correct it and put it in the repository. An additional benefit is to increase the sense of community around CinGG; in my opinion with contributions from more people we can increase the quality of the manual. What do you guys think?
Andrea, I like the idea! The only thing I worry about is that we forget to add it as we get on to new things. The other thing is that Sam has requested that we do not attach big files in the Mailing List so as long as we make the .txt files downloadable instead, I am all for it. Did you not consider to use LyX instead, Andrea (www.lyx.org, a long known wysiwym frontent to latex)? _______________________________________________________________________________ Georgy Salnikov NMR Group Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry Lavrentjeva, 9, 630090 Novosibirsk, Russia Phone +7-383-3307864 Email [email protected] _______________________________________________________________________________
@Phyllis You are right, the file size could be a problem. Putting the images on a web service (postimage; etc) and compressing the text odt file as an attachment to the post should keep the space taken up a lot. A generic contribution should only cover a section of a chapter in the manual, so there should be no size problem. But better to hear Sam's opinion as well. As for the danger of leaving a thread open without getting to Latex, it is true: it is a real danger. @Georgy I have never used Lyx but I see that it still relies on texlive. I was just thinking about the possibility that contributors don't want to have anything to do with Latex. LibreOffice is about not forcing users to install and learn other programs. Maybe txt would be better, but you can't keep track of the various contributors.
About "I propose to post the contributions to the mailing list in odt so that any user can propose, read and edit them." It is my fault, sorry. It's probably best to continue as you did because it is more efficient, as far as I understand. If someone, like me, has to add something, temporarily the ODT or simple text could be adopted (and uploaded on https://transfer.sh/). Sorry again. IgorBeg
