To test the new filters that come with the 4.2 (colorhold, xmedian, etc), just copy the entries in plugins.opts? After that they appear in resources --> video effects and you can try them out?
xmedian was commented out by GG as were the following upon earlier report from Andrew: freezedetect showpatial thumbnail_cuda derain But if there are parameters that can be included in plugin.opts for xmedian or any that make them work, that would be good to know. For me, colorhold or any of the new working ones automatically showed up in Cinelerra without having to modify plugin.opts to include them. phyllis/gg On Mon, Aug 26, 2019 at 1:37 PM Andrea paz <[email protected]> wrote:

My test: I confirm the filters to be left in blacklist; to read the documentation, they require more input tracks, or write in metadata, or neural networks or even speech recognition. So it is not possible to make them work in CinGG. The others are all present in video/audio effects, do not give errors and work. Unfortunately some of them don't work for my inability: - Colorhold makes everything monochrome, even the color I chose to keep. - Dedot, no matter how much you change the parameters, shows no difference. - Maskfun shows no difference. - tpad do not understand how it works

Finally managed to test *Colorhold*. The way to get it to work is to use the color picker in the Compositor to get an exact hex value number on a specific spot. Use this for the "color" value. Then you can use "similarity" or "blend" slider to expand that particular color to color values that are numerically close. - Dedot, no matter how much you change the parameters, shows no difference.
- Maskfun shows no difference.
- tpad do not understand how it works
I did not understand any of these so did not test.
Thank you, Phyllis. A small video demonstration of the two plugins I like: Colorhold and Lagfun. https://streamable.com/0zdhj
