{this is related to HD capture hw we discuss with Terje}
Should someone explicitly mail blackmagic's support about this?
found some more links https://hackweek.opensuse.org/20/projects/write-an-open-source-driver-for-th... {but was it even started? cc originator} https://inogeni.com/product/converters-comparison-table-7/ claims to support Linux (but usb3)
I tried sending the following request to BlackMagick; I hope it's okay... "Hi, I wanted to inquire about the licensing of Decklink SDK Headers. Is it possible to compile ffmpeg with "--enable-decklink" and also download the Headers?"

Thank you for asking Blackmagick Design to hopefully get the license problematic clarified. As some may remember I posted also a related topic about BM Decklink previously on the forum: https://www.cinelerra-gg.org/forum/forum-hardware/declink-video-capture-and-... IMO BM's most flexible, but also costly product which supports both SD and HD video, was (is?) Decklink 4k studio https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/decklink/techspecs/W-DLK-12 Beside drivers, hopefully their Desktop software, Media Express now works on generic Linux https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/decklink/mediaexpress Terje J. Blackmagick replied pointing me to the EULA: [...] The DeckLink SDK Headers are coverered by an End User License Agreement (EULA), which can be viewed from https://downloads.blackmagicdesign.com/EULA/DeckLink/DeckLink-End-User-Licen... You can find the headers in the Desktop Video SDK package from the Blackmagic developer site https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/developer/product/capture-and-playback [...] I don't understand legal language very well in my language, let alone in English.... It seems to me that it is a proprietary license but with "permitted use".
Equivalent to this: ffmpeg - Decklink - Ubuntu? https://gist.github.com/afriza/879fed4ede539a5a6501e0f046f71463 Den 20.12.2021 10:40, skrev Andrea paz:
