With the last release (20/01/20) I have quite frequent crash problems. Maybe the problem is a loaded .png; maybe it's my PC that with an AMD navi 10 graphics card gives me continuous problems. I got the dump only without being root. Starting from root I didn't crash!

Andrea, Per GG, it looks like the program failed in the lock window destructor (on a Quit). Almost all of the windows are gone but subtitles are still there. It could indicate an uninitialized variable and he did find 1 but not likely the 1 causing the SEGV. We both tried to run as ordinary users and load videos and quit but it did not error out for us. I know you are busy with your brand new computer, but we are quite concerned that there is a problem not related to your new computer. So if you have time could you run as an ordinary user and get another dump if it crashes using the Ptrace option? This is documented in section 18.2 Crash Dump for Analysis. (P.S. gg is very impressed with the new LaTeX version of the manual and wanted to pass onto you and Andrey his compliments). On Tue, Jan 21, 2020 at 2:24 AM Andrea paz <[email protected]> wrote:

Even with today's test, I didn't crash spontaneously. (I don't understand why; yesterday morning they happened after a few seconds or minutes!) I created a dump via CTRL+C, but I don't know if it will be useful. Do you want me to do a valgrind, a proof2 or something?
Andrea, thanks for the attempt and we feel better about it not being a major problem since you could not easily reproduce it. I would not put any more time on it now and just wait and see if it occurs again. GG will continue to think about it and see if he can come up with a possible cause.
