Interesting reading, thank you.

It gives me the idea that there is no general solution, everyone has
to experiment with custom profiles until they find the ones that work
best (for them!).

However, from my few tests, I have the impression that with ffmpeg-4.4
the efficiency inside CinGG has improved.

Note (OT) 1: I've tried various cache settings from the default 256 MB
up to 4096 MB; but I don't seem to notice any change...

Note (OT) 2: The most annoying thing (which GG and Adam Williams had
also noticed) is the visibly slower playback in OpenGL than in X11.
