Ummm.. I use Slackbuild scripts because I'm on Slackware ...So, yes, for me this patch can be
added to each new build automatically, even if official sources  still do not have it ...

But depending on your Linux distribution procedure about adding patch to package creation is different ..
For self-compiled software you can just make smallest shell script running
your usual sequence of commands (patch, configure with arguments, make, make install)

I hope I understand your question correctly!
