[Cin] Suddenly Cinelerra keeps crashing

some software restricted access to X server?

if you run cin as another user (relative to one started X session) you can
check man xhost and grant access to X server to your user ....

also, check DISPLAY variable it usually points at local display like ":0"
but for remote sessions and some multiserver (multiseat?) setups it can be
different...
