[Cin] Two patches from Andrea's testing

I did builds on Fedora, Ubuntu 16 and Debian 9.1 32 bit with both patches
in and ffmpeg 6.1.  Since this was the first time I built with tiff 2.6.0
and ffmpeg 6.1 on Ubuntu and Debian, I tested by loading using ffmpeg and
rendering a tiff sequence.  No problems discovered with these very
simplistic tests.  Will checkin 2 patches on next desktop boot up.
