    Just to add, right-click /tmp/newfilename.udf using Gnome File
    manager>Property, it is recognized of Type: Binary file
    (application/octet-stream)<br>
    At first there was no Program set to open this file type, but set it
    to open with VLC and got sucessful playback of video and audio.<br>

    Tried the same with Mplayer, which just loaded its gui interface
    with no playback. (there is no problem to playback hdv.m2t files
    directly).<br>

    So far, VLC looks to work most robust for my playback, and I
    continue therefor with VLC<br>

    Next, I continue with a separate thread (as the current has become
    more than long enough), trying to test burning images to a new type
    BD-RE/DL 50GB discs (first).<br>
