Another pretty interesting bug: referenced EDL is actually mono
What about this one. 1. Create a project where you put in a nice stereo audio track 2. Put it on the time line. 3. Save the project "stereo track" 4. Create new project (obviously stereo) 5. Load the project "stereotrack" as "Reference EDL" 6. Drag it into the timeline 7. Play; notice that is actually mono audio on two stereo tracks. -- Stefan
Yes, it is "pretty interesting" -- you certainly have a way of doing things that no one ever expected to be done ! Again, was not designed with this usage in mind but never the less, maybe it could work? (In case anyone reading this is interested the expected usage is outlined in the manual at: https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/CinelerraGG_Manual /File_Reference.html ) The problem is easily reproducible and I have logged it in the Bug Tracker as: https://www.cinelerra-gg.org/bugtracker/view.php?id=633 On Sun, Feb 5, 2023 at 6:20 AM Stefan de Konink via Cin < [email protected]> wrote:

I'll take it as a compliment.

My edit flow was changed because I could not get the OpenEDL to work in the way that was described by creating subprojects and using a Reference EDL in the main project. That works quite nicely, and gives separation of concerns. Yes, it would be nice to switch between these projects without closing the main project... @Igor; I am still in the process of screenrecording what I am doing "wrong". -- Stefan

It is a compliment! Generally when a new feature was added in the past, it was in direct response to a user request for something specific and that is how it was designed. And then creative users come along and take advantage of the new feature to do something a little different.

OpenEDL section in the manual needs to be better written and I am "secretly" hoping that Igor will review it and fix what is stated wrong because it looks like I wrote that original section and as things came up, just shoved in changes. I am sure Andrea added some improvements.
@Igor; I am still in the process of screenrecording what I am doing "wrong".
"Wrong" can just mean "unexpected" -- I do this all the time.

Stefan, I don't see any bug. Look at my screencast at https://transfer.sh/MzCYaJ/Cin_20230131_AudioOnSequences-OpenEDL.ogv Use the headphones to hear this demo, please. In the video I am using Pan feature to show that EDL, Nested, OpenEDL (Sequences) work as expected, for me. The demo is done using "CinGG-20230131-x86_64-older_distros.AppImage" on UbuntuStudio_16.04. For your OS you can download it from https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/images/ Sorry, I don't understand what you see in your projects. A screencast would help.
