If and when the new features come with the next(?) Cin-GG appimage, I can do more testing as I've got my new BD-RE discs. Will also the internal ffmpeg with pcm be included? Terje J. H

*Terje*, I have created at AppImage for early testing: https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/testing/cin_bluray_lpcm_test.AppImage *Andrew*, I downloaded the latest GIT to start fresh and then ONLY added these 11 patches in numerical order. When I did just a quick/simple test of the default "Profile" of bluray.m2ts, it seemed to work but I have not yet done thorough testing. Using "Profile" of blurary_lpcm.m2ts, I still get the same error previously reported of no bluray_lpcm but I still have not looked at why. On Mon, Dec 20, 2021 at 12:26 PM Terje J. The latest times I've burned BD_image.iso tp discs with K3b after creating iso's with tsMuxer.
As this time it was BD structures I tried to follow the manual section https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/CinelerraGG_Manual/DVD_Bluray_Creation.htm... <https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/CinelerraGG_Manual/DVD_Bluray_Creation.html>
9.Load your media, format if needed, note device name to substitute for <bd> or <dvd> If rewritable blu-ray, use dd if=./bd.udfs of=/dev/<bd> bs=2048000
Entered the new BD50-RE disc into the blu-ray burner and entered
dd if=./bd.udfs of=/dev/sr0 bs=2048000 dd: failed to open './bd.udfs': No such file or directory
Tried this also with root access with the same failure. Looks for me as './bd.udfs' is missing and not created yet.
Searched the manual and did't remember how and where (mounting/unmounting?) this step was executed??

If and when the new features come with the next(?) Cin-GG appimage, I can do more testing as I've got my new BD-RE discs.
Will also the internal ffmpeg with pcm be included?

What a surprise and service, and the Appimage installed nicely ):
I wonder about following: 1. cin_bluray_lpcm_test_9e730376d01dcf86b3420de8f3625cec.AppImage size is only 80M while the last offisial version was 150M+. Is the new test-version limited packaged? 2. The test-version was autoinstalled by AppimageLauncher as usual in my user's ~/Applications Not sure what really happened when/after I ran the test-version as root and I didn't longer find it in ~/Applications to-day. It was moved to /root/Applications !?
*Andrew*, I downloaded the latest GIT to start fresh and then ONLY added these 11 patches in numerical order.
=====================
Here follows my first test which looks well until I should burn the BD-RE disc:
cd /data/Video-test/SD_Blu-ray du -sh dv28.dv 470M dv28.dv
I loaded the PAL SD "dv28.dv" into Cin-GG and then BD-render: Cin Warning: Must be root to mount UDFS Images [X] Create BD - Title /tmp/bd_20211221-012516
Checked Audio and Video, then Video Wrench: Profile: bluray-LPCM.m2ts Format: 720x576 Media: 50 GB Scale: None (default) <Start>
Cin-GG closed after rendering
can you re-try and capture exact output? it seems bdwrite step is failing.. probably alongside with mkudffs step... (

I want to highlight some paragraphs with reference to the manual section "DVD and Bluray Creation" https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/CinelerraGG_Manual/DVD_Bluray_Creation.htm... However there is a serious issue with interaction between the Operating System and bdwrite when creating a BD/blu-ray that requires automount to be turned off. Refer to the details and more specific explanations below the following steps for how to do this. Blu-ray Workaround for Mount/Umount https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/CinelerraGG_Manual/Blu_ray_Workaround_Moun... -------------- The max disk space needed is a little over 100GB for 50GB Double Layer (DL) media or 50GB for a single layer BD blu-ray. A standard SD of 4.7GB needs about 10GB disk space. You probably can get by with much less if the render for blu-ray is less than 25 hours of media. You will need twice as much disk space as the media holds to ensure you have sufficient space for working and copying. For blu-ray, the filesystem generation is slightly harder. First, it creates an empty filesystem image <target>/bd.udfs using mkudffs which makes a big hole for the filesystem data. The hole is made just a little bigger than the data written by bdwrite so that you don't have to write an entire 25GB or 50GB disc even if no data exists. This empty filesystem is loopback mounted to make it writable, and the linux kernel manages the filesystem image. The bdwrite program applies the blu-ray structure to the UDF filesystem by creating the needed BDMV blu-ray filesystem, which the kernel stores onto the image file bd.udfs. When udfs is unmounted, the kernel finalizes the disk image on bd.udfs. The bd.udfs image can be written directly to a blu-ray disk via dd or growisofs. I've used test files much smaller than the 50GB capacity BD-RE DL disc. Cin-GG uses /tmp as default for BD rendering, where I have 27G available space before rendering: df -h /tmp Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/nvme0n1p3 40G 11G 27G 30% / --------------- Be aware that the CINELERRA-GG program will be totally shutdown AFTER the batch jobs finish. Screenshot below shows BD blu-ray creation with 2 batch jobs queued up and ready to go. https://cinelerra-gg.org/download/CinelerraGG_Manual/DVD_Bluray_Creation.htm... ** But the STREAM map is now empty (no 0000.m2ts) and VLC cannot playback video from the disc!
Samsung hardware player read the disc as Datadisk, but browsing to STREAM is emptyf course nothing to playback.
Looks like only the Blu-ray structure has been written to disc without content.

Terje, not sure why you are missing bd.udfs. When I run the AppImage, I get: bd.jpbs bd.m2ts bd.sh *bd.udfs* bd.xml udfs
Phyllis, that was my fault last night - I found out to-day that when I executed the dd command I was located in /tmp and not in /tmp/bd....target :) The real problem next was unsuccessful writing content to disc (only empty structure). Den 21.12.2021 20:41, skrev Phyllis Smith via Cin:
