rusticl and DaVinch Resolve (round N)
https://chaos.social/@karolherbst/111827770287551625 ===== Some rusticl info for AMD users Once this MR lands (and appears in 23.3 as well) Davinci Resolve should "just work" with `RUSTICL_ENABLE=radeonsi` set in the env. It already works without it on Navi GPUs, this MR just fixes a crash on older ones. https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/27295 ==== quote ends ===
I tried installing rusticl (but without uninstalling rocm), but to no effect. DVR won't start, Blender crashes if using Hip, and LibreOffice freezes if you try to use OpenCL!

do they list OpenCL platform/device they try to use? you probably can rename ROCM one from /etc/OpenCL/vendors/ just add "_" to .icd part of rocm file ? also, clinfo should tell you some info about installed platforms/devices. ALSO you should set RUSTICL_ENABLE=radeonsi env. variable before launching program ....
It seems that with the latest kernel 6.7.3 the problems with my AMD graphics card are solved. Now DVR works with both ROCm and Rusticl (just use "RUSTICL_ENABLE=radeonsi"). The performance between the two OpenCLs seems similar to me. In contrast, for those using Blender, rusticl is not implemented and ROCm-Hip must be used.

\0/ I hope situation will be stable from now on, without regressions! Thanks for testing!
