well, with file still mounted to some directory you basically use kernel's
udf implementation for getting blocks corresponding to this ts file in
order ...


when you unmount it players must figure out filesystem inside file
themselves.

remove -vo null  (you can try -vo help for list of video output methods,
same for audio with -ao help. you can put your preferences in
.mplayer/config later) or check if your user can connect to X server from
given terminal (emulator).


I managed to kill my access by deleting .Xauthority file while trying to
figure why ssh -X was not working ...


thankfully it was recreated automatically after I killed X and restarted
them again ....
