Dear developers! Now that you have done a tremendous amount of work to improve work with Cinelerra, you can pay attention to smaller issues. For example, to me personally, the border between the tracks is not at all obvious, especially when there are a lot of them. When the content is adjacent to the left side of the timeline, I understand where the border still somehow turns out (blue stroke). But in the absence of content, dealing with borders is much more difficult (red stroke). GG looked into this today and was hoping that he could get this done before the end of the month, but it will have to wait until next month. It is more involved than he thought it would be and affects at least three different code sections. It will take more time and thorough testing to avoid flickering. Phyllis

Hi! What do you think a band instead of a line, if possible by code) in the even tracks? That line confuses the Autos (Speed, Fade, and so on) lines. A band with colour a bit lighter respect to black background (for example, for SUV theme: rgb=303030, html=#1e1e1e, or more dark) and for even tracks. Unfortunately, a different pixmap is used to draw the patchbay to the left. It would not look pretty because the 2 different lines would not be synchronized (that is lined up ) all of the time -- it would become very distracting and you definitely would not like it. But if something changes later, then that can be reconsidered.
IgorB: I think that the autoasset colors is distinguishing enough that a band does not provide additional information. BTW, the color of the separator line is the inverse of the theme color. I always find the auto lines confusing and turn then off first thing and since it is easy to change the colors of the auto lines, something besides white should help to avoid confusion. Phyllis/GG

We tried for a few hours today to come up with an acceptable solution for you *and *us. GG wrote the code to also add a line to the patchbay but it was quite bad. It looked bad and updating the line when the size of the track changes or when using the expanders in the patchbay (which, of course, also changes the size of the timeline track) is too costly. This cost affects everyone.

The autoasset colors is perfect, really useful and powerful, for me. When I spoke about inserting a band instad of a line I means something like the image added. The bands have not to add an information but only "separate" the tracks, one each others, at your eyes, to better display the tracks when an edit is mute, for example. Seems to me that it could solve the Ugin's question, if Ugin like it, I think. I don't know it if would be possible to coding, neither if it can consume a lot of cpu (for video refreshing) , and if users can like it. Of course, it is only an idea.
