Re 2-
I am not sure about the later route to Cin "multi-bit", but initial the
Cin "10-bit" (Cinx) was based on x265 (i.e for Blu-ray rendering), while
the regular Cin is and was 8-bit based on x264, as clarified by Phyllis
in this earlier thread
