I have tested up-conversion from hdv 1440x1080 to bd 1920x1080 (took at
least twice the rendering time of each of the other, switced fps by
fault may have caused the slow), and got correct display AR:

'hdv07_05.m2t':
mpeg2video (Main) ([2][0][0][0] / 0x0002), yuv420p(tv, bt709, top
first), 1440x1080 [SAR 4:3 DAR 16:9], 25000 kb/s, 25 fps, 25 tbr, 90k
tbn, 50 tbc

bd.m2ts':
  h264 (High) ([27][0][0][0] / 0x001B), yuv420p(tv, bt709, top first),
1920x1080 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 29.97 fps, 29.97 tbr, 90k tbn, 59.94 tbc

Tested also down-conversion from mov 1920x1080 to bd 1440x1080 and got
correct Display AR:

hd01.mov
prores (HQ) (apch / 0x68637061), yuv422p10le(tv, bt709/unknown/unknown,
top coded first (swapped)), 1920x1080, 182130 kb/s, SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9, 25
fps, 25 tbr, 2500 tbn, 2500 tbc (default)

bd.m2ts
h264 (High) ([27][0][0][0] / 0x001B), yuv420p(tv, bt709, top first),
1440x1080 [SAR 20833:15625 DAR 83332:46875], 25 fps, 25 tbr, 90k tbn, 50 tbc

I used Einhander's latest built: Jan 19 2024 22:51:47
Do you use the Andrew's "BD creation aspect 16:9 fixes" from that time?
