I had to re-install openSUSE Tw-Slowroll on my Dell XPS-13/9370 with i7/ UHD620 iGPU ( Intel Coffe Lake, gen8, 2017). It worked previously when I tested cin-12-02-2026-x86_64.AppImage and ffmpeg transcoding with h264_vulkan before that. The equivalent tests errors out with h264_vulkan, but works with h264_vaapi and h264_qsv Cingg ------ [h264_vulkan @ 0x7f2f462a0900] Device does not support the VK_KHR_video_maintenance1 extension! I have verified that the same tests work on my 2 year more legacy Sky Lake with i7/ HD530 iGPU (gen6, 2015) and Slowroll. -------- So far I have not discovered possible missing package, driver or lib that cause this issue, so troubleshooting hints are welcome. Updated msg/txt to consolidate only the most noteworthy changes of 2025. As discovered by *Stefan*, libzmpeg3/video/mmx.h errs out when compiled with gcc 15 using optimization level 3. Andrew researched this and patched the fix as used by another application. *Andrew-R* work: Applied 2 patches which might fix parallel “make install” in some cases. For Termux, patch added to use remap_video_codec in decode.opts for “mediacodec” decode, patch for djbfft-0.76, and blds/termux.bld updated. Enable yuv/yuva16 and rgb/rgba16 integer formats if ALLOW_OLD_16BPC environment variable is set to any value. This modification required un-commenting previous code and fixing a couple of crashes. It is still in the experimental stage. Render formats added: - vulkan render formats for experimentation, ffv1_vulkan.mov, hevc/h264/av1_vulkan.mkv, h264_vulkan.mp4 - av1_mediacodec.mp4, magicyuv.avi, speedhq.avi Generate an error message if python/python3 versions is missing from the system and stop the build in configure.ac. In addition guicast/Makefile has been made more robust as pertains to python. Correct makeinfo/texinfo check in configure.ac. Updated bld_appimage.sh in the main directory as a result of the testing being done by Terje. Fixed error in blds/bld_prepare.sh for Arch comment and added Slowroll option to Suse, etc. option. Mods for experimental Vulkan have been added to cinelerra/ffmpeg.C. Patch needed for Rosa 2016 thirdparty/src as libtheora-1.2.0.patch0.

No nvidia testing from me, second motherboard died

Sorry. It was working fine yesterday, but I meet cuda error while testing my appimage with old ffnvcodecs. I was rebuilding cingg when everything just hang hard. On reboot I meet Award BIOS Bootblock, instead of normal bios screen. Tried to re-flash bios from motherboard's support cd - flasher seemingly hanged, without even telling me what type of flash chip it found. Yeah, this Asus M2N SLI was from ~2007 but was working fine until yesterday .... BIOS chip is soldered, so I guess R.I.P.

hack for makeappimage for old systems

Well, with boost 1.61 and gcc 5.5 as in Rosa2016.1 Note, I have no idea for now how it will work on new systems with new boost etc I just wanted to make appimage with old nv-codec on old system. It checks/sets cxx standard to c11, and adds liboost_system to libs, and changes constexpr to just expression as it probably was in old boost Not for inclusion , at least not until I check it on more systems

It raised autoconf level to 2.71 for some reason, and thus old system failed ... I pushed it back to 2.69 and build continued .. Just patch for thirdparty/src, not git am

Requires patched qemu. It sort of wild people try to game in guest Linux, in Linux-hosted Qemu VM. But well ...

P010 format support for v4l2

https://github.com/awawa-dev/HyperHDR/discussions/967 Probably not really useful with "normal" SDR sources, but might be useful for some weird loopback cases like outputting HDR via display port, capturing via capture card, connect it via usb 3.0 cable back to computer, get stream via v4l2 into application (I do not think cingg works with this specific format yet) . Or replace DP video output with some game console... Moar bits ! :)

Copy a Cin unbundled, dynamic build with 'cp -a'

For my purpose, I just used 'cp -a' to USB stick to copy my 41M unbundled, dynamic Cin bin structure from my Alder Lake build machine to a Coffee Lake desktop, both with Slowroll and ffmpeg-8. I just had to add-install three dependices libOpenEXRUtil-3_4-33, libtheora1 and libsuil-0-0, to get Cingg working on a standard Gnome desktop installation where I rendered hevc_qsv and hevc_vaapi. If the same may work or not beween more different architechtures and systems, I don't know.

The following render formats and patches have been checked into the source GIT: hevc_vulkan.mkv h264_vulkan.mkv av1_vulkan.mkv h264_vulkan.mp4 magicyuv.avi speedhq.avi 0001-Djbfft-patch8-for-termux-clang.patch --- thirdparty/src/djbfft-0,76.patch8 0002-Fix-static-termux-build-with-mediacodec.patch --- blds/termux_bld.sh 0012-Experimental-vulkan-encode.patch --- cinelerra/ffmpeg.C Hopefully Andrew can verify that I believe I am caught up with the exception of possibly the dav1d Makefile and the ladspa appimage inclusion. In addition I would like to find time to try out anylinux-appimage to replace the current linuxdeploy.
