Should make enabling it easier ? defaults to "no", should be enabled by passing --with-vaulkan to out configure. I plan to add similar blocks for libzimg and libplacebo.

Late 2024 onevpl support was added for the buildsystem with various presets using cin_hw_dev=vaapi. Ubuntu 24.04 anyone?

The AppImage apparently does not work on Ubuntu 24.04. Bugtracker links still down?

I tried https://cinelerra-gg.org/bugtracker/my_view_page.php just https://cinelerra-gg.org/bugtracker/ and https://cinelerra-gg.org/bugtracker/login_page.php for me all still displays "result not found" Guess our bugtracker page hides from fireworks, like my dog! (under table does not sounds secure enough, so he hides under bathtube .. )

Updated AppImages + Andrey's packages for Debian,Suse,Fedora,Ubuntu building

The latest AppImages are now available and with Sam's new display they are easy to find since marked as "NEW" which is so helpful! However, the older 32-bit Debian 9.1 version is not available because apparently some change causes it to crash with a segmentation fault when rendering. It will probably take me some time to narrow down the cause but since it is 32-bit, I am not sure anyone is using it anymore anyway. Users running any of Debian 13, Debian 12, Debian 11, Suse Leap 15.5, Fedora 38, or Ubuntu 22.04, preference should be to use those packages at https://github.com/einhander/cin-gg-packages/releases which should be currently compiling. This was needed starting at Fedora 38 and now for Debian 13. Building CinGG using distro libraries, i.e. without the thirdparty libraries, partially done by Rob P. who found some issues with changes needed/created by Andrew: - Giflib conflict for QuantizeBuffer required an “ifdef” patch. - Audiofile library was using an outdated negative left shift which has been fixed as found in Github. Ffmpeg/plugin.opts has had 8.0 filter, scale_cuda, disabled as discovered by Andrea. Manual changes include - Addition of “Adjacent Edits in Timeline” when there is a problem as noted by Stefan, diagnosed by Georgy, and explained by Andrea in Latex format. - In conjunction with work on the new website server, several url-s have been updated in the manual. - Updates in Installation.tex for bld_prepare.sh explanation.

Hi Cin-GG folks! I'm Glen from AV Linux, I had gotten busy and away from the Cin forum but I'm still a hardcore Cin-GG User and I still include Cin-GG in every AV Linux release. I was quite concerned when the Cin forum and downloads were offline for so long and I was hoping the project was still going, now I see the downloads are back but I couldn't seem to log into the forum so I thought I'd just join the mailing list. Thank you for all you do to keep this project going, I know it is neither fun nor easy much of the time to maintain a large open-source project.. On to my question: I had a read of the Cin manual about adding ffmpeg options and I'm a little lost on how to do what I want, I also use and distribute the AppImage version so I'd also like to avoid cracking open every AppImage release to add some custom options. I do a lot of Concert film restorations these days and I like to work with the Video in Cin-GG and then import the Audio into Ardour so I have an unlimited choice of specialized Audio Plugins and a more ideal Audio-centered workflow. For my use case I really miss a MOV or MKV option to Render H.264 Video + WAV Audio, this combination seems to be missing from both the 'mov' and 'mkv' extension formats and H.264+WAV is a completely valid spec for both MOV and MKV containers. If I recall there is an h.264_vaapi option in mkv but my Video card doesn't support it.. With this Workflow I can import the whole Video file into Ardour and extract the Audio and then re-mux with the edited Audio and keep the MP4 Video without re-encoding the Video so this is why I'm asking an H.264 Render with an uncompressed WAV for further Audio editing. In general for an archiving option H.264+WAV is a decent combo as well so hopefully it would also be a useful addition beyond my needs. Is it possible to get plain old H.264 + WAV in a MOV or MKV container (or even both) in a future release? Thanks for considering and a Happy and Healthy New Year to all the Cin-GG folks!! reliable webcam recordings

It's not cinelerra per se, but does anyone have reliable recipes for saving USB webcam audio and video synced (and at a reasonable framerate >=24fps)? I swear that ffmpeg will drive even the most easy going man totally insane! Anyway, post rant... I have an HD logitech webcam (Webcam C310) and I'm trying to save workstation sessions so I can create online tutorials. To do this I need to save content in a low-loss format. I chose mjpeg with quality value 2 and pcm_s16le audio at 44.1khz. I'm trying to do 1280x720 proof format and scale down after editing. That format IS SUPPORTED at 25 and 30fps by my webcam. The booger is that the exact same ffmpeg recording command will about 50% of the time create a compressed audio stream of up to five minutes, while the video is going on well longer (tested up to 20 minute clip) Sometimes the audio is correct and sometimes just chipmunks squeeking. Another weird symptom is that I see regular periodic clusters of a video frame repeating itself 14 times, which obviously shows up when viewing. anybody have alternate recipes for 720p A/V capture from a USB2 webcam that supports MJPEG? I am considering running audio save to a separate file (arecord for audio and ffmpeg for video) and muxxing them in cinelerra later on, but obviously would prefer it work out of the box.

Updated website changed links in CinelerraGG_Manual.pdf

Git for "cin-manual-latex" has had 12 files updated for the corrected links that changed for the updated CinGG website. I also verified correctness of non-CinGG url links, corrected a couple of outdated ones, and deleted a YouTube one that used to demonstrate color banding ( https://youtu.be/KL8CIZej19o) - which came up with something totally different. It would be nice to find a good replacement though. Also updated CinelerraGG_Manual.pdf on the website but not the HTML pages yet.
