Record HDV cam Live video with IEC61883 failed

I tried CinGG-20250430-x86_64.AppImage to record HDV cam Live video connected via IEEE-1394 (Sony iLink, Firewire) using the iec61883 driver. According to the manual: The file format must be Quicktime for Linux and video recording must be enabled for it. Click on the wrench to set the video compression. Segmented Recording from input stream

Is it possible with CinGG's Record utility (via FFMPEG) to record a stream to file segments of same duration or file size and use auto-naming? Typical example: Record a video/audio input stream (i.e from playing a camcorder tape cassette) and encode to output file segments of 10 minutes or 10 GB each and auto-name file numbers. Similar example code using an input file instead at https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/1670/how-can-i-use-ffmpeg-to-split… Just use what is built into ffmpeg to do exactly this. |ffmpeg -i invid.mp4 -threads 3 \ -vcodec copy *-f segment -segment_time 10:00 \ -reset_timestamps 1 \ cam_out_h264_%02d.mp4* | This will split it into roughly 10-minute chunks, split at the relevant keyframes, and will output to the files *|cam_out_h264_01.mp4|, |cam_out_h264_02.mp4|*, etc. Terje J. mpeg2sd422p presets

Attached here are two presets for recording SD raw video to mpeg2video with high 30M bitrate and 422p chroma subsampling. Just a quick working test by me so far. A m2ts (mpegts) container is used as for the previous hd variant, to easy be able to combine with pcm_bluray audio. As progressive video, none of these are Blu-ray compliant, but merely for use with media-players. My thought next is therefore to make additional .mkv variants of both presets. Discovered problem with future ffmpeg 8.0

After applying current ffmpeg.git as of May 25: ae0f71a387f05be7ac90d545af4d3aeb8e1cca89 and applying Andrew's patches: 0001-Add-check-for-nb_inputs-before-calling-avfilter_get_.patch 0002-Same-possible-crash-fix-in-ffstreamaudio-for-dynamic.patch 0003-Do-not-filter-out-dynamic_input-filters.patch 0004-HACK-ffmpeg-8.0-build.patch CinGG builds but none of the ffmpeg plugins work. The Video plugins crash (did not try them all, but a few like F_boxblur) when added to the timeline and then click on "Show Controls. The Audio plugins do not crash but you get the warning tone only when you play them (again, I did not try them all, but F_chorus was one of them). I have not looked at the code yet, but most likely it is just an oversight in trying to get it to compile. Also, line 77 in 0004-HACK-ffmpeg-8.0-build.patch has "#esle" instead of "else".

mpeg2hd422p.m2ts - groundwork for a high-end preset

While the newer h.264 and hevc are known for best compression, mpeg2 may have better quality at video bitrate > 30Mbps This example capture a raw video stream (optional tape playback) from the camera sensor over HDMI out and transcode audio to PCM into a high-end mpeg2hd422p.m2ts -input_format yuyv422 -video_size hd1080 possibly may be commented out, as the encoder default uses the maximum capability it get from the capture card ms2130 and driver v4l2 mpeg2video is difficult to get quit perfect with ffmpeg; muxing overhead: 6.206455% is the minimum I have achieved as in this case. In case this also may be something for a CinGG "dv50.mov" preset: Long time ago, Renomath "Video with Linux, Workflow Resources" by Eric Olson, catched my interest (then unobtainable) DV50 when I read Hi8 Tape to DVD Video Workflow with Linux <https://renomath.org/video/linux/hi8/> /If you have a faster system you may want to consider capturing using the DV50 codec using a 4:2:2 color space. In order to do this, libng from the xawtv project needs to be patched to recognize the dv50 codec. Using dv50 as the capture codec really allows the Linux solution to surpass a stand-along DVD recorder. It is also possible to capture the video using ffmpeg or lavrec. / Cinelerra Version 4.x yuv4mpeg Patch <https://renomath.org/video/linux/cinelerra/> /Patch for dnxhd and dv50 Quicktime Input, which add dnxhd and dv50 input to Cinelerra. OpenGL Texture Limit

I have this OpenGL warning with X11-OpenGL driver: void AWindowGUI::update_asset_list(): Warning: /home/paz/Video/hdr/hdr_02.mp4 dimensions 3840x2160 exceed OpenGL texture limit 0 In this case I used a 4k source, but the same happens with any resolution, since the “texture limit” is 0. I found this answer: "If you want to know dynamically the texture size limit of your device (because it's change depending on the device), you have to call this method: int[] maxTextureSize = new int[1]; gl.glGetIntegerv(GL10.GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE, maxTextureSize, 0); And don't forget that for some device (the Nexus One for example), the texture size must be a power of 2 !" And also: "One note: It's a static method, so you can simply call GLES10.glGetIntegerv(...)" Note: the limits of my device (on the specification sheet) should be: 16384x16384
