ChromakeyHSV menu much improved

Checked into GIT an anonymous contribution for a much improved ChromakeyHSV menu to include: 1) Now there are individual boxes on the left side where you can either keyin a distinct value or use the up/down arrows to change the value. This gives you a much better control than where previously you could only move the slider to jiggle the number you wanted. Also, much easier to see what all the values are at once whereas before you had to click on each individual diamond setting to see just 1 value. 2) You can reset individual parameters to the default. Before you could only reset them all so you would lose a particular value you were already happy with. 3) The menu is more visible over a larger space making it easier to see. 4) Plus some minor code cleanup to eliminate at least 1 duplicate line and to put some "int" on same lines as statement. P.S. Someone indicated that ChromakeyHSV had some kind of bug, but I was wondering if Andrea ever found out exactly what that was? since it looks OK to me.

Fade In/Fade Out flash bug

In MantisBT #0559, Georgy took an in-depth look at how Dissolve works when the two affected clips have an alpha channel at different opacity (see comment 005645, for a detailed description). The purpose is to eliminate The flash of gray lettering just before having the normal Dissolve. Georgy explained the problem well. A patch appeared in CinHV to fix the problem but Georgy saw no difference between CinGG and CinHV with the same project (provided by IgorBeg). Investigating further he saw that the normal operation of Dissolve leads to the very flash we considered a bug. So the question is whether to leave it as is or make interventions to have a different result, more in line with expectations. Will the LV2 Plugin interfaces in Cinelerra-GG be affected by the possible withdrawal of GTK2 from certained linux distribution?

A message from AVLinux (creator of AVL-MXe) on the MX Linux furum explains that the removal of GTK2 from the next stable release of Debian could affect the user interface display of certain plugins. He explains the problem and the source of the solution he intends to use for AVL-MXe. A potential HTML manual problem under NTFS/FAT filesystems

I accidentally found, that in the huge list of files produced by latex2html from the CGG manual there are HTML pages, whose filenames differ from each others in the letter case only. This is no problem under Linux. But if somebody copies all the files to a Windows computer (with an NTFS-like filesystem), or to a memory stick formatted as FAT32, or to some network (Windows or Samba) disk where differences between upper/lower case in filenames are ignored by the operating system, then some HTML pages will be overwritten by others and disappear. I have found 4 such potentially conflicting pairs of page names: Compositor_Window.html - describes the whole Compositor GUI (Chapter 2) Compositor_window.html - describes the Compositor shortcuts (Chapter 15) Viewer_Window.html - describes the whole Viewer GUI (Chapter 2) Viewer_window.html - describes the Viewer shortcuts (Chapter 15) Final_note.html - about copy/paste text highlighting in Chapter 17 (How some stuff works) Final_Note.html - a link to wiki.archlinux.org on hardware video acceleration from Chapter 19 (Performance and other tips) Index.html - the Index at the very end of the manual index.html - the default start page, automatically created by latex2html as the exact copy of (hard link to) CinelerraGG_Manual.html The automatic creation of index.html can be suppressed by the latex2html option -noauto_link, and this file is not used by CGG Context Help (while Index.html is used). If renaming other sections (for example "Compositor window" to "Compositor window shortcuts" or "Final Note" to "Further topics on hardware acceleration", or something like this) is desirable, to me is open question. Under old windows, too .. but as top comment says, quality is quite surprizing, considering all limitations. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4U32Hl4uSBs "USB video capture in 2002: Dazzle DCS 200" mpeg2 SD video (NTSC/PAL), at around 6 Mbits/s ofcourse capturing raw/lossless is superior ... if you have hd space. But I guess analog/noise filtering part in those old parts was main feature and not afterthought like on some more modern devices {echoing from comments}

Chromakey improvements checked in to GIT

Chromakey plugin has had its menu improved by anonymous contribution and it has been checked into GIT. (Andrea, can you test it too? and check the manual to make sure still matches and make new image?) Improvements include: - added Default button - default values for Threshold and Slope changed from 60 to 10 and from 100 to 0 as much more practical - position of Threshold and Slope switched because Threshold is more relevant (Previous 2 items were suggested by Andrea) - textbox with arrows added for much easier access to current setting - individual "reset" icons added - location of "Use color picker" put into better position - other minor stuff

News item at linux.org.ru - because official one just few lines without any picture :) https://www.linux.org.ru/news/multimedia/17621213 Also, it was suggested that we (cinelerra-gg) can create different git branch < named, say, "testing" > for "potentially unstable" patches, like current ffmpeg 7.0 patchset and then merge back to main/stable when feature is deemed ready. So, "main" releases will be once in half year, year but they will look more like releases, with Changelog looking less like git log :)

Audio Offset Finder

A nice command-line tool that reads the offset between two audio tracks, thus allowing them to be manually synchronized. Unfortunately it is made with Python, but I was wondering if it is possible to import it into "i" shell commands, so as to provide sync information of the various assets.
